Kathleen McKeehen
Kathleen took her first botanical painting class in 1995, followed by the Natural Science Illustration program at the University of California Santa Cruz. The program’s internship took her to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, where she drew botanical plates. Since then she has freelanced for a variety of clients, including Organic Gardening, The Herb Companion, Gardener’s Companion, and others. Kathleen teaches botanical and natural science drawing and painting through a number of venues in the Seattle area, including Gage Academy, the U.W. Center for Urban Horticulture, and the Winslow Art Center on Bainbridge Island. Her botanical paintings have hung in a number of shows around the country and in Canada.
