Sharon Birzer

Sharon Birzer is an illustrator whose work is inspired by observations made in the diverse ecosystems of our planet earth. She  currently lives and works in the Puget Sound area. She has taught illustration at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle Pacific University, and The National Botanical Gardens in Maui.

Working directly with curators at the Seattle Art Museum she created illustrations and custom maps that are permanently part of the Museumʼs signage. Her illustrations have been included in books and publications. She worked with Curators at the Burke Museum of Natural History on arachnid illustrations for a publication. Her art work has been exhibited throughout the Northwest and around the country. Birzer holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts and an MFA from the University of Washington, and completed the UW Natural Science Illustration Program.
